CUSABO ISLAND RESIDENCE :: CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA

A steel prototype structure solving the problems related to building on an island without services, and only accessible by water. Utilizing prefab construction, sustainable technology, and construction technologies for tackling the challenges of the site. This “off the grid” house touches the ground lightly, takes advantage of sustainable technologies, and provides defense against the powerful coastal storms and occasional brush fires that sweep this small coastal island.
