mountain retreat

Nestled on the edge of a clearing in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, this retreat is designed open up to and take in the serene view of the mountain range to the north.  Designed for a family of five, the compact plan includes bunk type sleeping for the kids, and a full Master Bedroom for the grown ups.

By siting the project on the edge of the slope, the garage is tucked underneath, while the entry onto the main level is like walking into a treehouse. The 15 foot wide slide fold door opens up the entire living area to the deck, creating an indoor outdoor experience that connects the home to the geography.
